There's Elite 80 members here and likely interest. Not much performance talk on the 80, since there is little aftermarket. IMHO - take time to build up an audience and please post info you can openly share.

Your doing 53 on flats with no tailwind? What does your variator setup consist of? Larger unit? What are your other mods?
On the stock unit, new belt, and 9g sliders I get 46 consistent on flats, and 55 max downhill tucked.
Mods are oem style foam filter
3.5x10 zippys

GREAT info right there dog! Can we get that wiki'd? Wait a sec... That info sucks.

We all realize the 2t's have plenty more obtainable power, but we are talking about a different scoot with a different riding experience. Plus there's no room on your tiny elite 50 for a blonde chick on the back with her t*ts hanging out...

We want info like what variator are you using? Stock or aftermarket? Did u mod it in anyway? What roller weights work best with it? Are you using the factory belt?
This is definitely uncharted territory as the ch80 has virtually no performance parts out there that actually make a difference. And like mouse said there will be an audience eventually, just keep the thread going and start posting your findings!!( with pics please! )

If you in fact did make a variator setup that will get a ch80 up to 50 consistently, and can proove it, then I'm 100% sure they'd sell like hot cakes. I'd take 4.

it is a taller vario actually it uses 9 gr rollers and its a lot lighter and packs more punch then anything im about 220lb and i rock about 53 full tuck 45 stright and around 60 downhill i do have the clutch(no top speed improvement, just punch) race spring(in this case only helps in the down shift) but what this vario does it keeps your rpms up higher and in turn helps you into the powerband faster i also found that honda restricted the vario on the 80 to make it as slow as a bone stock aero 80( yes power is identical but the elite has way more on top then the stock aero) the areo vario doent notch like the elite does the vario i use make ti look more like the aero vario and gives it a much higher gear but also sits lower almost on the shaft on take off.

Do you have any pics of the unrestricted ramp plate?
If possible next to a stock ramp would be great!! Make it happen!
