What honda elite ch80 stock horsepower?

How many horses the ch80 have? 10 ? 8 ? Need to know to decide if a 8 to 10 horsepower lawnmower muffler will work as a replacement. My muffler snapped off and the even with it repaired there no way for the guy to wield all the way around the pipe due to were it snapped off. Really just want something to make it ok to ride with. These are 5 bucks at one place.

take the pipe off get the bad bit cut out replaced and welded back together

Pauly is right take that pipe off and fix the bad piece. Post a pic if you can so we can see the offending spot, there will be a bunch of us who can offer advice. I wouldn't use a lawnmower muffler. There is no replacement for a decent exhaust. The lawn mower muffler would likely just make a bunch of racket and wouldn't likely perform that well.

Elite 80 mufflers are prone to break.
Repair is advised where possible.
Matching a lawn-mower muffler to the pipe will be better than nothing,
but the horsepower rating of the motor has no bearing on the equation. ...

I repaired a CH80 exhaust where the pipe had separated right where it enters the muffler body. I just cut a large access window into the mounting bracket so I could get the MIG tip in there and managed to weld the entire perimeter. Then I just welded the cut out piece back in. Still going strong 6 months later!
