AF18E Motor build, I want to get it right the first time

Post by KAPS »

So i managed to get my hands on an af18e motor for my 85' Honda Aero 50. Gutted and cleaned it, installed new seals and gaskets with the original crank and now i have to open up my wallet and i am panicking a little bit. This is my first real build, I want to get things right and order the right parts to accomplish my goals but there are just sooooo many websites and options. I would like to be able to do 75 km/h comfortably and have power to climb hills. I am not a heavy rider so I think this is a pretty modest goal to start off with, but i dont have a big starting budget.... $300, maybe $400? If anybody with a bit of experience putting together a package of parts for this motor i am all ears..

Thanks

P.S. i know how everything works and all of that, i am asking about what you have bought and what has worked well. i don't want to end up with parts that aren't really compatible because of some little tidbit of info i wasn't privy to.

That's cause the US didn't get the Dio motor until 94 we go the af16.
If you have a af18 all the af16 BBK should work.
