honda spree stator removal
hi. im trying to remove the stator off my spare honda spree engine. i belive i have to split the crank case by undoing about 8 bolts. is there any other way or do i HAVE have to split the case. any help appreciated. thank you

You're going to want to take a look at the manual which can be found here: http://www.hondaspree.net/other/Spree_NQ50_84-87_1.pdf
Scroll down to section 7 and it will explain how to remove the flywheel and stator. You don't have to split the cases.

bfowler is right. you use a harmonic balancer puller from autozone.

Lol well not just that. You need a flywheel puller to separate the flywheel from the case. It's pressed on not just screwed in.

use the right tool and the job goes alot easier .

new best 1/8th mile time 9.647 seconds @67.155 mph 310lbs total weight
