Differences between Elite LX and ES engines

Post by starhunter »

I'm about to replace the engine in my '88 ES with an '89 LX engine. I think mines sb50 and the lx is an sa50. Should I expect a different mounting point for the new engine? I'm not sure, are the carbs the same?

Would I be able to pick up on the sa50 performance parts as well?

SA50 actually has performance parts. Check vtcycles.com. The SA50 swap will help your scoot's performance quite a bit.

SB50 is mounted differently, I think you'll need to rework the motor mount. The SB50 engine is a Spree engine, basically. Few performance mods available.

Is this a matter of cutting and welding the motor mount?
