Get the purple elite and part out the spree!
Re: spree in a box
Oh, and btw. I think I'd give old Jo a call and tell him you're missing some parts. Like the carb, clutch, sidepanels etc. And a big jar of screws.
It was dark. I'm sure they're there somewhere...

Re: spree in a box
I agree....don't listen to the nay-sayers! I just purchased a 1986 Spree, just like the one I had when I was a kid. I am in the process of adding a BBK, sock air filter, and MLM exhaust! I am 6'5" and still ride that little scooter everyday. The best thing is....its not about going fast or having a bigger scooter just to have it...its about the education you get when you build it yourself and about having fun. I am doing the work on mine just to do it...and....I get a little help from my 2 year old son in the process. Ok...not much help, more like havoc and destruction, but I am spending time with him in the garage and building something. In the end....its about the memories and having fun! Good luck on your build and keep the rubber side down!

This is what its about right there, especially how he let's his two year old in on the action, golden family time. I have spent one ton of cash on my spree just for the sake of experimentation and it was worth every cent for the education of it and the fun. There is lots to be said for trying to put together a basket case, it can really be exciting searching out parts and waiting for them to show up. My express was kinda a basket case, not as bad as your spree but it was still a bunch wrong, and it took me many years to figure it out. I spent almost 400$ right out the gate when I got it for 50$ and it refused to run no matter what. But I held on to it and finally figured out its demons a few years back. And I got it on the road last spring. I got it 15 years ago this summer. I paid $50 for it then $400 in parts and bits, then last spring $200 on a used eBay motor, then since then I've spent over $700 on go fast parts and misc bits. That's $1350 into the bike, not including the over $100 per year for insurance for the last two years and the $45 a year for the plateOneHungLOWe wrote:I agree....don't listen to the nay-sayers! I thinks I need to get a other one. what you see is what I got.Dingus Khan wrote:I got my first spree and heard nothing but "get an elite.". if you love the knee shield on the spree as much as I do, ignore it all. yes I spent an arm and half a leg to get my spree to 35+ mph but I am very happy now. a lot happier than if I just bailed on the spree and got an elite. yes there is some things you have to change to make it all work but i'm in the process of making all the plastics fit with no cutting. it's not so much about the money. some people are just crooks. I was looking for a long time. when the crook "jo" told me that it was all there, I was happy. but when I got it home , and found out he must of sold every part on ebay. what you see is what I got . after a long trip to pick it up. as i'm loading the spree frame, the crook is fill the box with the parts. he said all the parts are in the box. but they where not. I got suckered and just got the frame and junk parts. I don't want to have anything to do with this spree. brings memorys of bad experience with a crook named jo.
I have good news I pick up a other spree for $150. needs work but all parts there.![]()
thanks for your thoughts.

Re: spree in a box
Dios are rare in my neck of the woods. I could have had one several years ago, for $100. But my woman at the time was bleeding me dry, money wise and mentally . that's part of the reason I got my express running
that woman had been so terrible to me by stealing all of my money and messing with me mentally that I couldn't get any money to even try to get that little express on the go. So when I finally got rid of her I made it go as a therapy
I got my spree despite her efforts years ago. So I would take that spree in a box and show that rip off artist that he didn't get you down
if you want a spree build your spree and then you will be able to look at the spree and remember the * yes but also how you overcame his efforts and made something awesome out it

thanks for the dio info.
sometimes it take a little while to find a good woman. one that only cares about you.
when that happens it's magic, she will want to get a spree just to ride with you.
as for my spree in a box, just like your x girlfriend I want nothing to do with it.
I did find one spree for $150 im happy. ill make it my own. thanks for you positive feedback.
