Screaming noise coming from trans?
Hey guys so there's a noise coming from my trans that I just can't seem to figure out. I thought the problem was the bearings So I changed them out but still the sound is there. The gears I'm running are 7:1 Malossi straight cuts. Proper amount of oil is being used in gears. Af16 block. Any idea what it could be?

an old belt or a stuck final drive pulley, take it apart and check the pins that ride the s-grooves if they bind the unit is shot = it needs grease every yr.

Re: Screaming noise coming from trans?
Is noise new, or did it happen at the same time as the gear change?
There's a reason most gears are cut helical... they are quieter. Straight cut gears are loud.

Can you turn the gears by hand without binding? If so, noiseguy is right, you're going to have to adapt to straight cut primaries or switch to secondaries.
