I would check the stroke on that crank, I dont know of any 51mm kit that works with a non stroked crank, but theres tons of cylinders out there so who knows. If I had to guess its a Ruima cylinder by the Letters.
Oh wow I just thought it was the factory ridge the didnt fully rough up, ha now I see the carbon from the transfers etc. I just thought it was shadows and a factory goof.
Pat if you send that down to your local machine shop they can chuck that on the lathe and remove the excess jug height. Or I can do it for if you pay shipping, as a favor. That is unless the porting is way off. I also have porting tools if you want to attempt to make the jug work.

The jug has totally never been run. No carbon anywhere or residue. I agree about checking the stroke, the piston doesn't quite go down to open the lower part of all of the ports properly at all. I'm not cheaping out on this build. I'm going to get all of the right parts, crank, cylinder, head that are all meant to work together. This motor was a case of a worn out top end and someone went and slapped on a top end and carb and was going to expect it to be awesome.
There is an oversize 1.00 stamp on the piston I'm thinking it was bored. That would explain the lack of chamfering on the ports. And yes that top 3/8 of the bore looks to have been honed over. I'm ditching that jug for sure, not worth it to me to run it. I want proper performance right out of the gate on this. I need a flywheel, fan, fan shroud, cylinder shroud for that beast. I also need a oil pump plug
what size carb came with that motor and what brand is it ?????
dose the piston come to the top of the jug ????

Its a 28mm oko with the standard aftermarket Honda intake. And the piston comes just about to the top of the bore. The squish looks like it would be almost on spec. But the cylinder gives me a bad feeling for some reason, and if I do run it it, it wont be for anything but satisfy my morbid curiosity to see if it would run or not. But I think a whole rebuild will be the right thing to do. By the looks of the variator face its a high miles motor. So new crank bearings and seals along with bad * crank, and whole bad * top end

That pic of the piston in the bore, the piston is at the full bottom of the stroke, it doesn't look right to me, what do you guys think? I'm not going to run it that way anyhow, I'm just curious. This motor is a new frontier
And stroked it shall be... B-) I just need to get the missing parts and get those cases split and order up the go fast goodies B-) what is the scooter model in the US that has an af18e is it an SA50p? Isn't it an sk50 in Canada?
