Spree fails to run after 5 miles or so
Ive had my spree for about 6 months now, when i first purchased it it ran poorly but i cleaned the carb and replaced the sparkplug etc. and it ran perfectly (started first kick every time) for over 1000 miles. Recently while riding up a very large hill after reaching the top the spree quit running. I waited aproximatly 15 mins and then tryed starting it again, after kicking many times it finaly started and ran for about a mile or so. The same thing then happend again. After that it ran all the way home (about 8 miles) and then wouldnt start after i turned it off. I cleaned the plug and it started again. I drove it for a mile or so and it once again slowed down and then stalled. The next day it wouldnt start so i purchased a new spark plug and it still woulding start. I then cleaned the entire carb once again and check the whole engine for possible problems but saw nothing wrong. After i put it all back together it ran perfetly for about 15 miles but then it died again and shows no sines of life whatsoever. I talked to my freinds father who is a mechanic and he said that he thinks that it could possibly be a dirty fuel filter or a faulty head gasket that when expanded by heating results in a preasure loss.
Any help is greatly appreciated, i am compleatly stumped on what the problem could be.

ok your first jet is called you main jet, this jet is located in the middle of the carb, you take off the bottom half and it will be big and in the middle remove it with a screwdriver by unscrewing it. then in that same hole is a long pipe thingy with holes in it, another jet, clean with carb cleaner and compressed air, then if u pull out this littke brass tube next to the big one ( it is stubirn, dont bend or damage it!) then clean it also with carb cleaner and compressed air, then blow the whole carb otu with compressed air takeing out the idle and mix screwes and bystarter, and blow in those. then reassemble and run seafoam through the carb, and wala. shoudl work nicely.

bleh......inline filter actually cause problems for me.
Somethin from it got stuck in my main jet and cause my scooter to screw up...(filter was clean for one thing...)
And with the inline filter stopping short caused the scooter to die...also i couldnt run with less than half a tank...
so...thats why all i got to say to inline filters is bleh...

Check your compression, if you have the tool for it. I'm wondering if your rings are going, and the carb's contributing to poor running.
On that inline filter problem: Are you running a sintered-metal filter, from a bike shop, or an automotive one with an element? B/c the auto ones don't work on gravity-feed fuel systems, they need pressure behind them to flow.
