I don't understand why you guys think because it's high comp engine it won't last. With the proper fuel and jetting it won't be an issue which is why I'm running high dollar fuel. Once again I'll prove you wrong like how i was doubted on what compression I'm running

It's pretty good compression on a 49cc scooter that's all. Doubt is bound to happen when a 175 psi bbk can melt on race gas. That's neat tho. At .05 you should have a lot of room for stretch. 0.01 is usually good enough. You are running well over 13:1 CR. Not doing the math but I know its well over.

No BS call here, just caution needs to be exercised at those kind of numbers, watch for the white specks. After 5 hours though it should be good until the crank gets tired of it:)

For those interested, some vintage light reading re: high compression 2T motors:
http://www.kidsatv.com/pdfs/higher_compression6.pdf

For the record, I get about 195 to 210F on a cheapo infrared shooter at the head on a fairly wide variety of two strokes, nothing super high performance though. On twins, it helps troubleshoot which side might be having the problem.

Now all we need is someone to set one up for nitromethane:)

I actually am having cometic gasket make me a .027 head gasket. Should bring me closer to 160-170 psi keeping my crank happy. 7.6 hours on it as of now but its 10 degrees and snowing up here so she's tucked away in the basement until spring.
