I would like a little more top end. Who doesn't?

1. Do you suggest going with a 90/90-10?
2. Do I need to modify the scooter to fit the 50S?
3. Can I use a tubeless tire?
4. If I use a tubeless tire, can I still put a tube in it?
5. Were can I get the best buy on tires?

 I had to sell my VTX-1800 due to the economy.
:D I never dreamed a 50 cc scooter would be so much fun.
 Its even funny to see the people at the stop lights laughing. I keep telling my self that they are laughing with me, not at me.

I hope I did this post right, this is my first day with an account.

Greetings:

Actually a 3.00 will fit fine. So will a 90/90, but it ends up looking a bit like a light bulb in profile because the stock 1.85" rims are too narrow for that tire.

The tires can all be run with or without tubes. However the stock '87 rims don't have that bead ridge that ensures the tire won't slip out of place going over a diagonal bump. That makes it dangerous to run sans tubes. If you keep the stock rims, I recommend a 3.00.

You should know that a stock Metropolitan rim fits without modification astern. The front Met rim fits with the addition of a 95mm brake panel from a '94-2001 Elite, a very worthwhile upgrade. If you score a set of these rims - I saw several on eBay recently - then get 90/90s for a cushier ride and (arguably) a bit better grip for braking and cornering.

I like the K 413 they came stock on my Kenetic. Not as sticky as some of the German or French tires, but good enough to grind hard parts if you push it, and for the money they look like $1,000,000

Greetings:

I've had very good experiences with The Motorcycle Superstore .com on several occasions. New tubes are never a bad idea if you can part with the Washingtons.
