Our so society is so *

Post by 12gauge »

So I get back home to my apartment in Indy after 18 hours of work last night. And I realize my moped is missing. I realize I can't go looking because I'm on house arrest. So I call office even tho there is no note on my door. We'll they call me back in morning and say pro toe has my moped they had it towed. I hang up and call pro tow they tell me it's 180 to get out. So I call my buddy while I'm at work and tell him I need him to go get it. I'll give home the money and my hand written bill of sale from original owner I bought it from We'll he calls to see if they will let him pick it up with that they say only if I write a letter saying he can. Then get it stamped by a notory at a bank. So I did this on my lunch break next door to my work. And he went down there to get it,,,, they say I need a title or original recipt he explains it's a 50cc moped and in Indiana 50cc or smaller isn't needed to be plated or titled or insured It's basically a dirt bike and it was in hallway of my aptmnt. Not like I was riding it on streets. So anyway they say I have to get proof if ownership. But I don't even no my vin number I just bought $960 worth of parts for engine not to mention random money for EVRY little thing I needed for it plus 300 for purchase I've put over 1000 man hours in on getting it exactly perfect how I wanted it and now it's gone cause a company towed it

You can buy it back from the towing company for less than you owe if you wait a month. It sucks to wait but they sell them for 150$ usually.

you still need a title for it, leaving it in the hallway is a fire hazzard=fuel, i have 4 scoots in my apartment, built a fake handi-cap ramp to get them in & out and got them insured for $50 grand plus parts under a hobby clause, i used to be a federal housing inspector so i can play the game!
some people dream of speed, i own your dreams!

Total cost for that rider is probably <$100 / yr. Stuff not nailed down in HI has a habit of walking away. Worth $50K? Well, if the insurance company thinks so... cool.

Lol problem is someone would get hurt and sue you till you live on the streets. And 50k insured for a scooter. Not happening, not even a 1st year Vespa. No underwriter in the world would sign off on that. My brother owns an insurance company for the past 21 years.
I would hate to live my life lieing non stop. Sometime you have to grow up. My 9 year old nephews have better sense.

$100 year to insure a scooter is cheap.. not to mention 4 of them.. I've come out to kids messing with, I assume, trying to snag Both my Aprillia and Honda. Oddly enough the custom Maliguti (most valuable of my scoots) gets left alone.

If there is no title or plate on it you have to bring it in, anyone can fake a bill of sale.. then again being on house arrest leads me to wonder. if you're allowed to plate the moped spend the $50 and do it. why would you NOT want something you can drive on the street.

I love that idea. I was thinking about an electric fence energizer for live stock. That would wake them up a little ;-)
