Well i got the cdi unit .It was plug and play as i thought i went for a ride engine sounds cleaner .It did make a difference not as much as i hoped but i now need to do some trans tuning again .My top speed went up from 69.9 to 71.3 and my rpm went from 11300 ish to 14400 .now at 14400rpm it started to studder a little not sure if thats carb or the cdi but ive never pulled them rpms befor so ill look into it .Between the three settings there was bugger all difference .Sad news i tore the belt to pieces at 53mph luckly i was only 200m from home lol

The 94-96 use the kymco Zx style plug in, I can link a pic to the intermediary harness I built to use elite cdis on kymco zx50s when I get home later. If you can get that style it's near plug and replug and then play.

At 14,400 RPMs your stutter is the port timings overlapping because of the speed.

Yes it was over revving and past your power band. If you looked at a dyno read out it would show you were maybe making 2 hp or less after 13k due to shorter port durations during the high speeds of the piston. You may be able to rev that high but it doesnt produce the power needed because ports are only open a fraction of the time needed to vent the exhaust or pull it up during scavenge.

That malossi belt is everything you need, it will help you get better speeds and safer. If a belt brakes and gets caught up behind and around the driven pulley and the case it can lock up the rear wheel and tail spin you. Safety and performance in one! Only down side is that kevlar belts wear out components faster.
Heres a pic from afar of one of my progress Racing cdis, Ill root around later for a better pic.

now im running the s trans (for now) it needs some roller tuning as my max rpm was 10250 but only touched 60mph .I ran the same run with the daytona in all three settings couldnt notice any difference except on setting 3 my tto rpm guage went crazy giveing all kinda readings. And the same run with the stock cdi it seemed a little flater thru the rev range with the stock.Temps are running same with both cdis
