I'd read the thread more carefully; all the info is there and in the websites. Most of the stuff you need can be bought at Home Depot. Since the one guy that's tried it hasn't gotten it to work yet, you might want to hold off.

FYI: Jerry has 4 running Sprees. If yours all run you've beat his record for most Sprees in one place.

As for oil in the vaccum line: no ideas. I'm guessing that it got in there during the swap, as the vacuum line to the petcock doesn't pull air, it just exists to create a vacuum at the petcock. Neither oil or air should be flowing to the petcock. I'd get your scoot sorted out stock b/f trying the mod out again. I'd still like to see a pic of the modded intake runner though.

i threw the intake back on and it does definately improve acceleration, and top speed.so thats kool. i am estimateing a 3-5 mph improvement.(i dont have a speedo cable).i live on a steep hill and when i climb it with the spree the speed usually drops. now it accelerates all the way up the hill as if i had a head start.

i have not installed the boost bottle yet so basically it will be nuts with that.

i removed the washer from the speed mod. (its a monster). i will update again after the boost bottle is installed.

its noy hard to do. take the intake off. look inside. you will see a restriction. use a small file and file it out as much as you can without making it lose its strength. (it shows what it should look like on my site).

i have a question on the boost bottle. its supposed to be sealed except the hose that goes to the intake right? i dont get how it will hold the air+fuel mixture. if you tried to pump something like water in it it would not fill because there is already air in it that cannot escape. my theory is take the smallest drill bit i can find and drill a tiny hole in the top of the bottle. is this a good idea?

i tried the boost bottle. it doesnt do anything. maby its the wrong volume but if it doesnt effect top speed i could care less.

You're thinking of this part the wrong way. The boost bottle is a type of resonator, like the body of a guitar, or a speaker box. It needs to be sealed to work. It does not collect air or fuel, it "collects" acoustic pulses. So don't drill a hole in it.

Boost bottles only affect bottom end power, regardless of what the Ebay'ers say. It broadens the power band.

You can check the volume with water and a kitchen measuring cup marked in mL, which are the same as cc's. Or measure it.

The ID of your fitting and hose should be .3 to .5 times the size of the carb choke point (narrowest part of the carb.) Are they?
