Spree hop up advice? (moved from Builds)

Greetings:
Provost33 wrote:Any suggestions on what else i should do would be appreciated. I like the idea of the Carb kit tazland sells, i just cant get myself to spend that money right now... Where can you find exhausts for these? and lastly, When i hit the starter , it sometimes grinds pretty nasty.. i havent taken the drive cover off yet but im guessing theres some gears in there that the starter is missing
MMMmmm, Pics! Not many performance exhausts for humble Spree, alas, except what people cobble up themselves. The stock pipe probably keeps the engine from Being All That It Can Be.
Starter Bendixes (Bendices?) tend to get sticky with belt gum. Remove, clean up and reinstall. See if someone can cough up a kickstart-equipped cover to replace your nekkid one.
The carb upgrade is worthwhile, from what I READ. (Never owned, much less modded a Spree...) The fixed stock Pilot jet is the problem that might toast your shiny new big-bore, aside from the potential for better performance. Get the (one-tooth bigger) gear upgrade while you're spending money. Be the First on Your Block to bust 40 with a Spree.

Most of my money is spent on scooterparts. The rest is just wasted.

Thanks. Is the 21mm carb jetting set up for the bbk as is? I know the bbk comes with a new main jet but that's it. Also where do you find a bigger gear or parts in general? Thanks again

I'm not sure if the mlm pipe is still being produced, but I've heard good things about it. It looks like treats still has some.

if i was you i wood think of selling the spree and getting a elite (94 2000 ) putting a bbk carb pipe and gears in a spree to get 40 or 45 if your lucky will run you about 700 dollars ... you can get about 350 dollars for the running spree ... look on craigslist for a elite to spend your money on ... you will get a bigger bang for you buck...
