My engine build

Post by Sinisterfuzzy »

hey everyone i'm new to this forum and was just wondering how this build sounded to all of you. I weigh about 230lbs, the moped itself is a '96 elite SA50 (or w/e the tunable one is) and my goal is to have an amazing (at least for a moped) low end torque but I want a decent top end (50-60?), i am willing to sacrifice top end for wheelie power :D . oh well heres my build

Kuka 54mm Stroker Bore Kit $125
P.O.P. Stroker Exhaust $150
OKO 30mm Carb $100
KRS Big Dual Reed Manifold $ 95
OKO Cone Style Air Filter $ 13
OKO Hi-Speed Pulley Kit Complete $ 45
DDX Heavy Clutch $ 45
Polini Clutch Spring Set $ 14
ASN Primary Gear Set $ 45
Kitaco Kevlar ZX Drive Belt $ 35
S.E.F. Stroker Crank $
Pirelli Tires $ 70

i dont really know how much the stroker crank cost but i dont think it was too much. If i've left anything out please tell me what else i could add to it. Also has anyone on here watercooled their Elites? if so how'd ya do it and how'd it work? Another thing i plan to do with this moped is an all custom body I'm going to form with fiberglass has anyone done this? I've had my moped for several years and have planned to get more performance out of it before but didn't have a job or any source of money so my plans fell through.

Thanks,
Jordan

ps, where do you all get your performance parts? I found www.vtcycles.com to be the most decent.

Kitaco Kevlar ZX Drive Belt $ 35 it wont work on your stock S front pulley, rear clutch shoes, boss and v plates. Check out on his forums diosoljah. ZX trans setup.

If you dont have that kind of money to spend on the stroker kit, will need to machine work, crankcase to fit stroker crank and cut top cylinder wall to fit a big bore stroker.

Just a polini corsa bore, 18mm carb, gears, high speed pulley, springs. can run s muffler, stock intake, reed cage. :D

yup, you dont need to go stroker to be able to wheelie and go 60 mph
Polini corsa, stock clutch, polini grean or yellow springs, 1000 rpm center spring 8 to1 gears.
Ypu can go either way on a carb manifold setup all depends on much you want to spend
Oh and true"sef" cranks arent made anymore, unless you wanto buy 500,pop stroker pipes are also discontinued, only current aval new pipes are "phongeers" the" long" is a good all around pipe for both 72's and strokers,it's a good low to mid end pipe.

The R1 is great but the pipe I think made for the 72cc corsa bore is the arrow pipe which runs about $250 i believe. But sticking with the R1 and putting money into some porting would be a good choice too.

Polini 72cc Corsa Bore Kit
R1 Exhaust-- go with a pg long
OKO 28mm Carb
KRS Big Dual Reed Manifold- krs small is better for the S due to tighter fit to block
OKO Cone Style Air Filter- go with a Uni foam filter
Kuka Center Spring Set 1000RPMS go with west German
KRS Adjustable Clutch- go with a Kelli med clutch
Polini Green Springs
OKO High Speed Pulley Kit
rather go with a Kelli and Kelli/daytona ramp
You stiill need gears, 8-1 should give the speed and low end you need, you also need jets, weights, adjustable throttle cable, ned fuel and vacuum lines
