mikeb, I agree with you that it can cause problems in extremly dirty engines. However, if used on a regular basis, keeping the deposits down in the first place, then you will avoid that problem. I put SeaFoam in my truck, Wifes Car, Mother N Law's car, and Sister in law's car after every oil change. So far, wife and sister n law's cars, bother over 100k mile mark and have been getting seafoam regularly, have had absolutly zero engine troubles. None of our vehicles have had any engine issues at all (accept brother n law's car, which ran like crap, at least until I put some sea-foam in).

Yah, i know injecting it through the idle screw isnt the best way, and is lazy, but for some people, it's the way to do it, without having to worry about screwing somthing up.

And doing it this way, was very quick. Besides waiting the few minutes of letting it sit to do it's thing, took about 30 seconds to unscrew the screw, and inject the fluids and replace it, and very easy. Perfect for those who know enough to maintain their scoot, but not enough to be comfortable that they wont screw it up.

BTW, works wonders in everything. Seafoam in the cars, trucks, lawn mower, generators (makes the gas last a lot longer).

every 10k miles, i also put it in the crankcase of my truck about 100 miles before oil change. Cleans the crap out, and the oil change flushes it away and gives me nice clean oil ^_^

I run seafoam in most gas I mix for boats, chainsaws, etc. I'm going to start adding it to my scooter gas. If you have a Mills Fleet Farm around, there are huge displays of Seafoam there, if you can't find it.

Most convience gas stations have it also, usually a bit more expencive.

One word of caution, Lucas Oil products, are great for cars, however, do not use them on mopeds. Their fuel system cleaner, is a thick formula, designed for cars, if you put that in your gas, it will clog your tiny engine. Even if you mix it well. Then you will have to pull the plug, and spray starter fluid to dilute all the lucas cleaner. I do also recommend lucas for cars, not mopeds.

and lucas in rear end doesnt sound like a bad idea

Ah, you cought my error, When saying lucas wasnt meant for mopeds, I was talking about the oil additive and fuel additioves in the oil and fuel resivours, in the gear box, it works like a charm, very thick, reduces wear immencly!

it is impossible no matter what for a spree to go that fast, the engine would literally fly apart, they fly apart at about 45 the crank will bend at 45 and then the whole moped will go bye bye

I just did the seafoam trick. Instead of injecting it through the idle screw hole, I took off the bystarter and just poured it in that way. Then drained it with the drain screw.

I think I got another 1-2 mph but I put an ounce in my tank of gas so Im not expecting too much speed until that has burned through.

P.S. Put 2 cap fulls of seafoam in every tank of gas. Seafoam is cheap, and it will keep your scoot running smoth, and you will get about 10 mpg more. (This was my experiences with my Elite, dads spree, and grandfathers Yahama Jog)

Also, if it's in bad condition, pour a whole bottle of Seafoam in the tank, fill er up with regular, and drive er. Enjoy the smoke, and smooth ride, that will really cean the sucker out

Which one was that, when the loose flywheel flew off, or some other I haven't heard of yet. Did it overrev and blow the rod, what was the failure?
