Elite restriction?

Post by se50 »

Hi,
On my '87 Elite SE50, I have a UNI air filter, rejetted carb, clean muffler without the restrictor, and the restrictor removed from the variator, but it still only does 25. It still feels like it has a restriction somewhere, Does the CDI maybe have a restriction? I can't even pop wheelies on it when it's warm, but when cold, it will, but barely.

Any help?

No matter what I do with the carb, though, it still does 25 top. Shouldn't I see speed changed with jetting changes?

Is your belt,center spring,clutch springs,weights worn?
Does the bike take of slow? does it accel ok, but top off quickly?
If your center spring is worn the belt slips,so the bike would rev but not go anywhere till the speed matches the belt,if the clutch springs are worn the bike wont rev up,if the weights are worn the topspeed would be lacking,if the belt is worn the bike again would rev up,but topspeed would be lacking but the bike would be reving and not going anywhere
Last did you decarb the muffler?
Remember, everyone is human, even if there stupid!

Not necessarily. Why aren't you running the stock airbox?

Next theory would be that your compression's low. Have you checked it lately?
