I've seen a lot of other people recommend Royal Purple, so I'd recommend starting there.

while we're on the topic of oil and fuel, does anyone have a suggestion on the octane to put in a Spree? I'd seen someone mention not putting high octane fuel in. Will high octane actually do bad things to the engine, or is it just that it won't provide that much of a performance boost due to the small cc size of the engine?

you probally could go high octane, but it wouldnt do you any good. Lower octane would be better for a spree because of its low compression ratio. Unless you can find the nitromethane stuff used in drag racers, then you wont find a perfomance boost in higher octane fuels...do a search on howstuffworks.com if your not sure.

use the cheapest crap you can find the octane difference from reg to pemium is less than 10 points it isnt noticable trust me wont give you any more speed nitromethane fuel premixed with oil for 2 cycle engines its called glow fuel and used in model airplanes and cars it costs around $20 a gallon for 20% nitro mix at your local hobby shop but i think you would blow your motor

Regular car oil won't have dispursents to mix as well with gas on injection
so you may not get enough lub all the time. It also leaves more additive and ash deposits on the head, intake, and coke in your muffler. Don't count on another 100o miles with regular car dino, blend or syn.
