Hey all,
Chad in Japan here. It's been a while since I've been around. Partially because I moved and got rid of my Dio. Well, I moved again and picked up another Dip and have been thinking about making a relatively large box to hold my tools as I am currently working as a carpenter.
If there's already a thread for this topic, could you point me to it?
If not, let's see what is out there, home made or not.
Regards,
Chad

Re: Rear Rack Boxes
I've been hoping a member would respond, but have comments.

Possibly a generic storage bin like the Rubbermaid Action Packer would work. I've used one on a cargo bicycle for years. Check out the brace on Bear45-70's rack that follows, the Action packer is much longer than the rear rack. Also loaded weight may be an issue - for the rack or for good scooter handling.

Member Bear45-70 had a large aftermarket rear box on his Aero 80.
It came with a brace to stabilize the overhang of the above box

Re: Rear Rack Boxes
Thanks a lot, mousewheels.
I've seen people around with boxes a bit bigger than the Rubbermaid one you posted, but they're usually on the notably larger rear rack of their Super Cub. Having an extension like Bear45-70's got would be quite nice to have.
I've already got a canvas bag that I tote my tools around in. So, it'd be great to have a box that would hold and cover it so I could just pop it open and go. Last time I carried my tool bag to work on my scooter, I had it sitting on the foot rest with a crow bar hanging out ready to ruin someone's paint job and my insurance premium.
Are there any more of the home made variety out there?
