Honda metropolitan rear wheel

i have a 94 dio motor in my 87 elite. Right now there is a 3.00-10 size wheel in it. Would there be any benefit in mounting a metropolitan 90-90 50j tire in it? If so is it a straight bolt on? Do I have to stretch or do anything to make it fit? Thank you

sorry let me clarify but i think you already answered my questions: Currently I have the stock elite 1987 rim with a 3.00 size tire on it. I bought a metropolitan rim with a 90/90-10 size tire on it. I just was wondering what are the benefits in converting to this metropolitan rim and tire setup? and if its a direct bolt on? and if i needed stretch it to make it fit?

Nope, you're good. Just bolt it on and enjoy a little better grip and ride, and Tubeless reliability. Anyway a stretch just moves the entire engine further back on the frame and does nothing to make more room for a bigger tire.

Width of tire: think about riding a 10 speed (narrow wheels) vs a mountain bike (wide). The 10 speed is faster but less stable. The wider tire provide a more stable ride, but is slower because of the amount of tire in contact with the concrete.

Height of tire: a larger tire has to go a longer distance to make 1 revolution. This will technically result in a lack of acceleration, but an increase in top speed. Larger diameter will result in a smoother ride as well. This is why mountain bikes use 29" rims now.

Then you have to consider weight. On a mountain bike they say, "an ounce on the tire, is a pound on the bike". Less weight is easier to move. That being said, is an af16 rim with tube and tire more or less weight than a met rim with tubeless?
