True, an exhaust thats not breathing well will raise temps. You'll probably have to jet for the yasuni, so maybe hold of on major surgery til you get the pipe on, and check jetting.

It seems to me that if a pipe is obstructed enough to limit performance, the first thing it will limit is RPM. With fewer heat-generating cycles per second, won't that make the whole thing run cooler?

Most heat created by the motor blows out the pipe. If its insulated of restricted less heat can blow out.
