wont stay running, no power PLEASE HELP

Post by sirbikealot7 »

ive got an 86 spree and it will not stay running for more than a minute, ive cleaned the air filter and was going to do the gas filter but i dint know how to get it out, i adjusted the screw on the side of the cabourator properly to 1,1/2 turns out, i cleaned the plug, and took out the crankcase oil, which now i do not how much put to put back in or if i should stick it back into the same place it came out of, and i dont have a battery in it. i think it might be the automatic choke stuck on or something, i dont know. any help would be appreaciated. thanks alot

fill it wiht transe oil, and let it sit, put a container on the side and let the exsess come out the hole that you drained it from, then you just put the bolt back in, or ou know you could always go to the tec docs, adn download the spree service manual, were they give y ou step by step instructions

Pull off intake and check reed valve for damage or carbon holding one or both of the valves open.

ok so i cleaned the carb with the pyrol carb cleaner by inserting it through the screw hole, i followed the instructions on how to clean the carb that way. and now the spree will run but not without gas or it dies, and it will not go past 15 mph not matter what, and usually wotn make it past 5. im not as big guy. 150lbs so that shouldnt be the problem. i dont know. any help?

theres a carb... that connects to the intake manifold, on the other end of the intake manifold, are the intake reeds, theyre between the intake manifold and the engine
