I've read stuff about welding a larger tip on the exhuast of the scooter. Well, I hacksawed mine apart last night, cut the little mini silencer in half with a stick welder cranked up, and ground the weld on the outside of the tip, until I could pop it out. I welded a 3/4" od x5/8" id tip on the exhaust. I stick welded it all back up (1/16" rod; burned through a lot of it, and had to grind and reweld all my welds, so I could get it looking good, on the entire thing). Put it back on, and gave a nice noise. Not much different than stock, noise wise, but, it does have a cool noise at idle. Really sounds like a 2 stroke at idle.

I bought a wire feed welder tonight (Hobart Handler 140), so I will grind my bad welds out again, and reweld it so it looks nice. I'll take a pic tomorrow. My Elite still does 25 with it, removed variator restrictor, no muffler restrictor, UNI air filter, etc. Sounds cool, though.

Would anyone pay to have this done to their muffler? If so, how much? It would be welded well, now that I have a MIG welder.
Edit-
Here's the pic of it. Sorry for the bad picture (it was dark, and I couldn't really see anything on the camera's LCD), and the welds are crappy, since I had to fill in a lot of areas with the MIG welder, that I burned through with the stick welder.
