put in a yellow malossi contra today and took her for a spin. rpms are staying up and hills are better. the throttle needle should be in today hoping to get that in. dont think the needle I have in there is helping my cause. some sputtering that sounds like its not getting the right fuel mix at certain times once the rpms are up it runs great. hoping the needle helps with the way it runs. but certainly getting closer.

That's good to hear! I'm guessing once you get the proper needle in there and dialed in a little bit it should all start to come together.

Theoretically now to find find a needle in the haystack . Got 10 needles and need to find the right one. Think I narrowed it down to 3 but only one real wAy to find out.

Put in the one that was the closest diameter at the bottom taper and will run it tonight to see how it goes. Idles fine right around 1 1/2 turns out on the airscrew so we shall see.

Sweet. So rode into town and hot d*** that needle runs so much better! Other than some idle issues when coming to a stop ran night and day! Will need to fiddle with idle adjustment would idle down but wanted to sit right around 4k rpm after she got warmed up. Was able to adjust a lil on the run to cure that so it drops down to about 2k. Temps got up to 375 on a long uphill pull but it was a slow climb and not sure it woulda gone much higher. Still running the 100 main and might need to adjust that but lost all hesitation on acceleration. Felt it what felt like it over shot the power band at one point. But hot d*** it's best its run in a long time

put about 30 miles on her last night no issues minus temps getting to 385 going up the biggest hill around. will put in the 102 main and that should help that out. not once did it hesitate going up any hill on my ride and I hit quite a few. not sure if its the right needle but it ran awesome after I got the idle under control. Pretty stoked to actually feel the corsa running close to the way it should. I could probably tweak with rollers a bit but unfortunately my wrench that I use to pull the drive face decided it wanted to give up the ghost. it was a cheap vise style filter wrench from harbor freight I didnt expect it to last forever will just have to go buy a couple and start playing around with the rollers at some point. I am in no hurry to mess with it to much as its actually running well. the 5.5s are probably a little light and Im sure im losing some top end but I can live with that for now.

I noticed you put the yellow contra spring in it....was there any help from that, or just the new needle?
Did you change both items at the same time or one at a time?
The heavier spring will for sure need a little heavier roller weights.......I would do that first to dial it in.
Then read the plug/temps on flat ground to determine main jet increase or not.
You seem to have it pretty close, try not to get too excited!

I put the yellow contra in first and it helped but the motor wasn't running very well when I rode it. Then got the new needles and did my best to find the right one and put it in. Motor ran night and day. There's no slip in the clutch or softness in the throttle. Only time I felt it want to be sluggish was a downhill run 3/4 throttle and I think the rpms went to high that last a sec or two tops left off the throttle a rich to drop the rpm and I ran great. Running temps averaged around 310-320 at around 40-45 cruising. Only time temps got high was on the long uphill pulls at 3/4 throttle once I let off temps leveled out again and was still able to throttle up the hill. Will be gone for a week on vacation on Thursday and will buy more plugs and check the one currently in it but I think the 102 main will just about right. It's a rocket stop to stop in the city and has the extra throttle when I need it. Didn't GPS It on the second half of my ride but judging by the feel of it when I hit 56 on the first half I went faster on the way home when I was able to open her up on a long flat 45mph road.

Getting the bike ready for Spring scoot 21 here in Ptown and decided to black out my turn signals after seeing DirtyEs beautiful blue elite. Still working on decals which I'm not sure which way im gonna go yet. Got new decals made up but not sure if im excited about the size I chose will post pics of the finished product. Would think about running sans decals if my plastics weren't black and semi beat up. Eventually I might repaint but for now it's stating black. Hoping to get some runs in this week to get it dialed in a bit more. Am happy with it but think it could run better. Would love to get it G9s and get it on the Dyno to see where I am at.(hint hint) but not sure I'll have time before the rally.

Thanks been working on the scoot today getting decals on. Not sure how I feel about them yet. But they are on and are gonna stay for a bit atleast.
