I think they look good also. I don't think I would change them unless you found something way cooler, which would probably be difficult.

Now you got me thinking about decals also.....

I doubt I'll change them it's just a bigger decal profile and just looked odd at first. It's growing on me.

had a few minutes and decided to mess with my slow jet that was a 32. I was having some issues starting and idling and I also noticed it felt like I wasnt getting enough fuel sometimes. so I through in a 35 and it fired right up and held an idle nicely and was easy to get it to the right idle. went for a little ride which I havent been able to do since putting in the 102 the main. just went 1/4 mile and back as the impending thunderstorm kept me from wandering to far. has good low response and seem to be better WOT as in it didnt chug a lug it just kinda felt like it was pulling as hard as it could. so I might even try a 104 and see what that gets me. this is gonna be a feeling out process as I am working with a throttle needle that may or may not be the same as the polini one that came with it. that being said my mid throttle is awesome so i am gonna go with it. SO atleast carb wise Im getting closer but my trans is still losing power going up any hills at around 9400 rpms. I will work on that when I get a chance hopefully before springscoot 21 but that might need to wait as I can get by the way it is.

Nice!

One thing about the needle. Your original needle should have had a code on it such as JJL or something similar. Inwould imagine that your needle kit comes with that same needle? Just match the needle code?

What rpm are you seeing at wot with that pipe and gearing?

You'd think the kit polini sells for their carbs would be labeled the same but they aren't. They give you a list of all the different tapers and relevant info to guide you. If I was smarter I'm sure I could spend a week to find the right one. After measuring and thinking about it and looking at the side by side I found the one that is closest in my opinion and its either this one or one other one. But like I said this one works great it's just my 3/4 to fill that is needing the help. I've only been able to get the rpms up to close to 10k never above. That's at 3/4 throttle. With 5.5g rollers.

Wow, that is crazy lol. If you have the code from the origin, I don't mind doing some homework to find out what it is. I am just too lazy to pull mine out and look lol

Do you think the rpm is limited by your trans setup or pipe?

Does your original needle not have any markings on it?

According to your quotes:
-Losing rpms going up hill indicates that you may have to increase your contra spring up to the red. Thats what cruzingratiot had to do to his Mystic Purple and he is a light guy at 160lbs. Now his rpms don't fall off at increased speed.
-if you have nothing from 3/4 to full throttle it indicates a main jet problem; being too small.

OK, so....

The original needle is Polini # 342.0111 which, while comparing it to the needles in your kit, is not included. However, here are the specs for it so you know what you started with. A,B,C,D,E which I would think your kit came with the cart, otherwise here is a link

http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/produ ... +_p3420129

Polini 342.0111 PW24 Code

A= 2,47
B= 0,96
C= 21,80
D= 22,30
E= 6,6

I'm not enough of an expert to tell you how any of the differences between the original and the ones in your kit are going to make, but this is a reference so you can have an idea of what you started with.

Thank Johnny. Not sure what any of that means but I'll ask around and see. If I felt the needle was hurting performance Id switch em and see but right now with a scooter rally this weekend I'm gonna run what's in there and tune around it. I've done some reading and think I'll be ok for now. Would like to figure out my trans right now. The lose of power has me a bit baffled but I haven't had much time to try different weight combos to see if that helps it or if I need to go up to a red contra. That red contra is pretty strong for non ZX trans and Id rather hold of on that purchase for a bit atleast. If I get time I'm gonna try a change in rollers this week and see.

Well decided to upjet to a 104 main to see what happens and I'm definitely heading in the right direction I can now open it WOT and not have it sputter. That being said I think I need to do something about the 34 slow jet it's a little spluttery at low rpm take offs but not to bad. Might try working the air screw.

Was on my way back to shop on 25mph road and decided to open it up a bit well coming at me around a bend was a motorcycle cop. Say to myself d*** it. He flashes his lights pulls in behind me. Pull over gently as to not rev the pipe. Kill it before I stop. He comes up to me and say do you know you were doing 41 in a 25? I said in the most incredulous voice I could muster 41?!? He say yeah 41 looking at his radar once again I say 41?!? Then he says looking at my bike yeah that doesn't sound right for your bike I said oh yeah that doesn't happen in this bike. He says it musta been the truck in front of you (which was about 100 yards In front) just bad timing on the radar I guess don't worry about. I said thank you have a nice day ride safe. Then he starts asking what year it was and it would be a good grocery getter with a rack on it. I say yeah it's great for around town. Then he mounts up and drives away. I wait till he's well away before I fire it up and haul * the other direction thinking SUCKER!
