Is there anyway to remove the flywheel without a flywheel puller

No, but an auto steering wheel puller will work. You can get one cheap at an auto parts store.

i use a prybar to pry on the fly wheel then i tap the shaft with a hammer

yea, pet a scrwe drivwe on each side and push while tappin the crankshaft
