So I decided to put a 35 slow jet in which is what it came with to see what's up. While there I made sure everything on the carb intake pod filter was tight. Fired it up and got a good idle and then went for a little spin. Ran great top to bottom! Rode it home and noticed a stutter in the trans sporadically at WOT. Haven't been able to get a good feel for why yet. My rpms are down after putting in the 6g rollers. Highs in the 9200k range. But atleast the carb is running better.

went for a ride at lunch today and the carb is running good but now as i am going WOT and get to 9k rpms the bike stutters till it drops to 7500 rpm then kicks in again. then at 9k drops and so forth. I currently have 6g rollers all around and have any tips on wether I should go heavier or lighter. with 5g all around it would do this on hills at around 9200 rpms. and rpms were in the 9400 rpm range tops.if I am going under 3/4 throttle it doesnt happen as I dont think the rpms get up quite that high. I am just at a loss on where to go next with the rollers. I am starting to wonder if the yellow contra isnt strong enough! still getting some throttle lag. though G9s buddy has a bike with almost the identical set up and he is running 6g rollers and blue clutch and yellow contra with no issues. I am open to suggestions. I could go 50/50 5g and 6g. but not sure if I should be going heavier or lighter at this point.

I know it's just frustrating to be in your bike more than you actually ride. I understand that's what I signed up for with the BBK. Just the cvt has me stumped. I know I. Theory it's simple but it hurts my brain!

well I decided to try the 5.5s and 6g combo and see then Ill work my way heavier. I did notice my belt getting a bit frayed on the edges so I will order a new one once G9 reopens his shop.its not that old but has some mileage on it.

Rode her home and it's hard to keep the front wheel down! That said uphill full throttle getting some drop off about 9400 rpms. Beginning to wonder if I need to start looking at the contra. It was screaming fast and with lots of torque. Max rpms were around 9700. By far the best it's run since getting the pg long minus the hill issue and if I don't go full throttle it doesn't happen. Still think I need to do some fine tuning in the carb getting farts on deceleration back to idle. My next move I think is to try 6g/6.5g just to see what happens. I do think my belt is getting a bit tired I'm gonna check to see what the thickness and see. But all that said its twist the throttle and hang on cause it's an adventure taking off on this thing.

Good to hear! I've been playing with scooter cvt for over 10 years and im still pretty dumb about it. Ive ruined things by taking them off and on so many times. I wish there was a 1-2 week scooter-tuning seminar or class I could go to and just get hands on experience with an expert. At least I have Whitey now locally so we pass stupid theories back and forth til something works. Ive been consulting with bram (bigbnrg) about everyday as well.

Thankfully G9 isn't sick of me yet and he's cool about helping out and will probably get it to his shop when he's open again. On a different note my boss is out today so I thought I'd work on my cafe seat idea. This is an idea I've been playing with for months now and have working many ideas and finally went ahead and started cutting the extra seat pan I had. My goal is to get rid of that curve up the back side of the plastics so I can sit a little further back and have a comfortable ride. After going on that 70+ mile ride last month I realized how uncomfortable I was. Never had an issue on a spree seat but this elite seat kills my back. So anyhow he's a mock up of what I have so far. Isn't pretty but will be covered so not to worried. The wood will sit on the bolts and plastics where the catch is for lock just like the Oem seat does. And gives me a much better ride angle and height. Not sure what foam I'm gonna use but might actually go will a gel pad and memory foam for the seat and keep it as thin as I can and use the old foam for shape around the sitting area. will post more as I go. This will still lock as I cut the old bar off the other seat and going to attach that under the wood.

Took the bike out tonight. Put about 50 miles on it. Still having a weird cut in rpms up hills at WOT. Something is a miss. Bike felt like it was always winding up. Ran great up to 3/4 throttle all night and was a rocket. I GPSd the ride home and top speed was my long uphill pull. Passed a big ruckus like it was standing still and he was tucked. So that put a smile on my face. Temps were in the 350s but I was using 3/4 throttle to try to avoid the cutout of the rpms. Thinking my contra and belt aren't helping me. Carb needs fine tuned but she screamed all night. Definitely time to enlist G9 to get it dialed as I obviously need some help. Minus that drop in rpms the bike is wicked fast. The top speed was uphill and pulling but had traffic to slow up for.

You have an air leak, small as it could be, or need to upjet your main.

Main Jet is 3/4 to WOT throttle that makes me think you may have an issue there, but you could be on to something with the torque spring as well. I know what you mean about buggin G9, i talk to my scooter mentor bram just about everyday on Google hangouts. He hasn't shut me out yet, but he was a little short with me on Friday when i changed the topic from porting to CVT. Some things you just have to figure out on your own, but help is always good.
I really like the decals on your bike!

Pretty sure I need to upjet for sure. Not ruling out a small airleak but I was actually going up jet while I was out and about last night but hanging by the fire was more priority. I'll change that when I get back to work.

There were times last night as I was cruising through traffic in town and is hit the throttle and It felt like the belt would need to spin from low gear to high gear ie top of clutch pulley to down in the clutch pulley does that make sense. Because it would take some time for it to go if I already moving. From a stop it launched like the *. My next move will be to get a new belt even if it's still decent I will need one soon anyway check for a leak and upjet. Oh and my rear brakes squeak like there's no tomorrow! They only have about 500 miles on them and they were noisy since installing them. But that's a minor thing.

If you put a stiffer contra spring it won't shift so slowly.

The only heavier is a red contra and afraid that's gonna do damage and curious if I should put ZX trans in?

The zx is nice. I didnt try the stock setup, but the zx performed well on my scooter. The only down side was minimal. There would be a lag in RPM from the angled pin slots in the torque driver when doing a WOT run from dead stop. I had ordered a malossi torque driver but cancelled it after installing the polini evo 3 driver for piaggio. Im not quite sold on the polini torque driver yet as I had to modify it.
With the stiffer red spring you'll need to bump up you vario weights most likely to keep the balance. I went from the polini blue which I believe is similar to the malossi yellow to the malossi red and ran without changing weights from the 4.5. Performance was sluggish, but revvy. Yesterday I bumped up to 5g rollers and it was better. I put in 5.6g rollers last night and will try them tonight if I have time.
