Somewhat of a rant about today

Post by Nighttrain ex »

Well today I was riding my elite and it started to bog and stall. Finally it just died when I got to my apartment. Trying to kick start it would make it run temporarily, but any throttle would make it die. After about 150 kick starts I realized that it was a loose spark plug. THe reason I didn't check that in the first place was because it was turning over. My question is, does anyone think I did any damage to the kick starter by trying to start it so many times? Thanks everyone.

Possiably. What I did with my kick start, is put some heavy lithium greece on the gears, and the part where the metal loop rubs on the lil bar (hard to explain), since I've done that, my kick start seems much smoother, like new, as it was very sticking before I did that.

a kickstart is made to kick, so you should be ok. however the catch gears are probably a bit more worn now compared to before.
projects galore :nerd:

Are the catch gears realatively cheap and easy to replace?
