Anyone know anything about Yamaha Razz?

Got a bogging prob after 1/2 throttle. Cleaned the cab 6-7 times same deal? Just dies if you gun it, it will go if you choke it.

If it will go with the choke on, I'd be inclined to say it is too lean. Try turning the pilot screw richer. I always thought a Razz had an auto choke, but I guess not.

It seems it might have a vac. leak around the plate that hold the throttle and choke cable in place. Should I double gasket?

Well I got it running good till 25..thats it...someone told me its the governed model. How do I get 30 mph out of this thing. I know is not a cdi rev limiter, could it be an exhaust gov? It only has 340 miles on it so I know its not plugged. I seems like its not reving up as much as it should. Im also not putting a bore kit in it, I know yamaha would not build 2 diff. motors, one slow and one fast it has to be a single part that is slowing it down. It would not be cost effective to make. Any help would be great..

The iowa model is the same motor...it is just geared down to make it slower. The final drive gears are diff. thats it.

its not geared down there is just a restrictor in the exhaust pipe that wont let it go past 25 to go along with iowa laws and regulations

If you look in the factory repair book, the tech for the Iowa says it has 10:1 compression the non Iowa has 9.5:1. The Iowa also has a 3.3:1 final drive as the non Iowa has 2.9:1 final drive.
