fiber carbon for your scooter

Post by kevinv710 »

Hi Guys,
A while back, I saw on my local Craigslist, a guy has a Honda Elite 50 scooter with all plastic parts covered by fiber carbon, it was looking really cool, does anybody know how to do apply those fiber carbon sheets to plastic fairings, and where to buy those fiber carbons?

Specialty stores that carry plastics and fiberglass composites would be your best bet. Tap plastics in seattle has the stuff, but careful. It's expensive and takes a special oven to get looking right. There are carbon fiber vynil sheets that might work better, it's basically a giant sticker that you cover your part in.

Maybe a vehicle wrap would work well?

You just need to buy some carbon fiber wrap. It's essentially a sheet of vinyl sticker that you can wrap just about anything in. There are all sorts of options available as far as sizes and lengths, colors, etc on eBay or other online sources. Finished results will vary depending on akill level, but as long as it doesn't have too many contours of bends its really not difficult. Just use a heat gun or hair dryer along with a soft and hard card, an exact knife, and you are good to go! It can look really nice ifbapplied properly .
