Is a Tact or older Dio worth it?

Post by clsmooth »

A friend of mine has a 00 Dio which is the ideal motor I'd like to swap into my 88 Pal, I'm just having a hard time finding the vertical mount cylinder with the 2-piece belt cover.

The two current options that are available are, an engine from a Honda Tact (which I know nothing about) or possibly trade up my scooter for an early model Dio.

Now I'm wondering if there are any aftermarket parts available for Honda Tacts?

The older Dio I might be able to trade for is the type where the cylinder lies horizontal and the belt cover is one piece. Are you able to make performance upgrades to this type of Dio as well?

see if the motor gear plate says af16 or af18 on it. Either one is a dio motor either japan(af18) or US(af16)
