No power on Elite

Post by frank50e »

I will grant this post is motivated by pure laziness but hey I am old and hoping someone with more Honda experience than me has a magic bullet answer. When installing a new battery in my recently aquired 99 low miles SA50 Elite I have no tailight no dash light or horn or starter.Fuse near battery checked and good.Is there another fuse or common connection failure or do I have to go through the pita wire tracing drudgery.Tips?I have tried jumpering from a charged auto battery and grounding to frame instead of black wire.No joy. Thanks

Greetings:

Assuming there's 12.8V or so right at the battery, something is preventing those electrons from lapping the circuit. Connections at the battery would be the first suspect, assuming all the no-shows were working before the battery was swapped. Green is Ground in Honda-speak.

there's also a ground wire behind your front cover check that out its a small rectangular look a like..maybe changing that out would help you..it sounds like ur ground for accesories are off..when ur elite s motor turns on the front and back light turns on as well even without batterry
