Greetings:
Impressions of "weak" spark are almost always wrong. If you can see it in daylight it's almost certainly enough. I guess we just see something like a coil that's easy to replace, and replace it without knowing if it's the problem. It almost never is, assuming it's Factory Honda. Testing isn't all that hard if you follow the Service Manual and pick up a Cheap Meter from Harbor Freight, or a little better one at Lowe's or Home o' de Po'. Otherwise testing a meter will be a challenge. I recommend you not hold the spark plug wire while cranking the engine. This was a lesson my Dad taught me as a young lad, but it was on a Lawn Boy mower with a defective "Off" switch that probably put out less than half the voltage of Honda's electronic coil. But that's story for another day...
It is still my impression that your issue isn't due to the ignition system, but consider verifying that the alternator flywheel hasn't rotated from its position on the right end of the crank.

Ha Ha Wheelman, my dad did the same thing. I think it's all part of being a dad and knowing/showing what not to do!Wheelman-111 wrote:Greetings:
