My second question would be about the transmissions, I assume all the AF05E trannys are like mine, the AF16E are adjustable but what about the late 80's Aeros?

Thanks again for the help guys.
yeah,I think I got that mixed up, AF O9 e is the 87 and aero blocks ,af05 is the eve smile in japan :D

That would be the best. Next is '87-93 Elite, then Aero 85-86 Aero.
what about an elite 125? or an elite 250? thats the one i really wanna do.. mount a radiator in front and be haulin butt around illinois... ive read reviews of the elite 250 that say it hit 70+... or the other thing i was thinkin of would be to use the engine and 4-spd tranny from a honda cr250 dirtbike. 2-stroke, multiple speeds... sound good?

if you want two storke with no modification you can try and find an aero 80. the earlier moels were two stroke so that would be two-stroke 80cc stock, no modification necessary.

yeah, i used to have one, but it got stolen. :( what i want to know though, is how MUCH modification would be required to fit a 250 in the elite? everything ive read says that the elite frame is the same from the 50 all the way to the 250, so im thinkin another honda 250 SHOULD fit. if not tho, i have a welder and a bunch of air tools...

All your info of all elites being the same is way wrong, all the elites are different from 50 -250,frame size etc

I always thought a 250 Elite motor would make a screamer out of an Elite 50... it would be freakish looking though.

Seriously... besides all the welding and plumbing required, you'd need to hack away most of the sidepanels and you'd still have mismatched wheels (10" and 12".) It would be ugly, probably handle like crap, and have inadequate brakes. And for $500, you could buy a motorcycle that would haul you both safely. Or find a running Elite 250.

At 120# apiece, an Elite 50 (94+) could be modded to carry you both up to 60 MPH... but I wouldn't do it. It would safely carry both of you as is.

This post was stretching, so I also started another, but I'm having Elite SE50(P) issues and I'm wondering what my options are.... my needs are simple, but maybe no less difficult to achieve -- I'd just like to break the 30mph mark! But without doing any "serious" mods to the bike. I'm thinking a new pipe is in my future...

BTW, thanks for the directions to Sports Wheels! The guys at Honda Town (Lake St., Minneapolis) knew of it, but couldn't really direct me. Don't worry though, I won't be able to get there for a couple weeks. :D

you will most likely need a bore/carb setup before you put on a aftermarket pipe.
catch me if you can (",)
