Just got my first scooter, what can I do with it!??

So I got this purple demon slayer of a scooter for free from someone. It is a 1998 Honda Elite SR

Well let me stop there and just say this, I think we are in a class all of our own. I even got pit maneuvered by a dude on a Harley knockoff bobber. We are hated by motorcyclist and hated by cars, there seems to be no fit for a cool scooter that gets 70mphs. Helping the world riding this thing ya know?

I digress no further; It hadn't run for two years and I got it roaring! The speedometer only hits 35 but I feel like I am going 40ish. This is without the air filter on, just can't tune it easily with a screw driver with that on, secondly the air filter sat oiled for 2 years and just fell apart.

Sooooo I would love to dump some money into this rabble rousing monster, but it seems like everything I read about getting performance parts steers me towards thinking I am going to buy the wrong thing. From my understanding I have am AF16 motor in it?

What are my limits here? 60mph? 70?
Are there suspension upgrades?
Disc brakes?

I am really surprised at how this little scooter can take what ever I throw at it. Fat wheelies that sometime end with my slamming the front end down, one minor crash, jumping it, off roading, and all without the air filter! I ain't no mint condition purest, so Ill probably run it without plastics and such. Just pretty excited about this scooter!

I got all my parts for 2 af16 motors from graphite9 and one does 70 the other 60-65. Very fast and reliable. Def go with corsa bbk, naraku intake, polini carb and arrow or polini pipe. All quality parts worth every penny, easy tuning, and great guy to deal with. Not to mention fast shipping.

spend some time reading here. then decide how fast you want to go and how much you want to spend. and I would suggest spending more for quality parts. in the long run you will be thankful. there are a ton of great people here to help you out. and G9 is a great resource and a stand up guy to buy from.

U can do pretty much everything lol!!! An yes buy from G9 scooter swap shop!! 99% of my parts are from him,except oil an thing of that nature.. If your looking to go big 130cc is the big dog.
I'm at 120cc doing 90mph+ when my balls are up to it...anyway Honda elites/dios scooter are like civics, parts for days....lots of great minds in this forum!! Have fun
