Crack in stock elite e exhaust. Big Problem?

Post by Jackstickley »

So as i was driving around today i noticed my sb50p elite was louder than usual so when i stopped i saw my problem. http://imgur.com/fbgAvE5 I plan to fix it as soon as i can. But im wondering how much damage i can do to my engine by running it like this in the mean time.

Greetings:

Ehh, I wouldn't worry about engine damage that far down the pipe. Cracks rithe atmthe exhaust flange can cause the engine to pull in air, but where your crack is shouldn't be a problem . Hearing Damage maybe...

yes the increase in noise is enough to not ride it at the moment i tried a dirty repair with steelstik putty but that blasted off immediately after 24 hours of curing. all i have is a tig welder and all that did was blast a bigger hole through the pipe so that's out.

Im stuck waiting and saving until i can buy another muffler.

MLM pipe has been delivered, and will be on shortly. So far it sounds great and cant wait to see how my scoot will handle the difference. I can already tell i will need to adjust the idle to stop wheelspin
