Honda spree and Aero clutch similarities?

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

Greetings:

One major difference is that they spin in opposite directions - the Spree engines actually turn Clockwise when viewed from the pulley end. This means that the clutch shoes pivot from the opposite end so that the friction "locks" the pads to the spinning clustch drum once they start touching it. A Few years ago one or two Forum denizens reported mounting Aero/Elite clutches to their Sprees, and as I recall they slipped horribly because of that shoe orientation issue. I'm pretty sure it's not possible to reverse the pivot points, but haven't looked deeply into that possibility... Not owning a Spree and all.

^^^ He's right! The clutch does spin in the opposite direction, so there's really no way at all you could mount one to a spree, not saying that it's impossible, but it would take some patience to figure out if a Aero/Elite clutch could be reversed to work with a spree. I do know the Aero/Elite clutches are also larger in size, and with the spree clutch being smaller you couldn't put the kick-start cover back on. So at that point I wouldn't even bother trying to reverse it and all.

The Honda Elite "E" however shares the same clutch. :)
