OK - just about done restoring the Spree.
Just need to paint the panels and fix a )(#$*()@$#*()()*$ electrical problem that has me totally confused.
1) Horn, high/low beam headlight, instrument panel, fuel gauge, starter all work GREAT! Battery is NEW. Fuse does NOT blow.
2) Tail light works, but brake light dims the overall intensity of the rear light. So when the spree is just idling, the light is bright, when the brake is applied, the light dims.
3) When the signal switch is engaged, it doesn't matter if it's left or right. Both front signals blink, and the rear don't light at all. When the front signals are blinking, the rear tail light dims.
4) All connections are connected correctly, (or so it seems - they're connected to the same colour of wire) and I've tried to use the wiring diagrams to help me.
If anyone has any help, I'd appreciate it so much.
I've been going out of my mind for two weeks.

Your brake bulb is screwed in wrong... somehow. Or you're running the wrong bulb. It happens.
As for the blinkers... that's a new one. Usually they either don't light or don't blink, which is a bad flasher. If both front are blinking methinks you have something plugged in wrong in the front lighting.

Thanks, noiseguy... I tracked it down to two problems....
1) Ground on the rear brakelight was corroded.
2) AND GET THIS.... Halfway through the harness, I found the orange and light blue rear signal lines CUT OPEN, TWISTED TOGETHER, AND SOLDERED!!!! I repaired them, rewrapped the harness and everything works now.
I have no idea why anyone would have done that to the wiring harness.

Rear marker lights instead of blinkers, perhaps?
