Boring?

Post by xela_p2004 »

Will boring the stock cylinder and adding a bigger honda piston increase performance for a spree?

Boring it to what? Big bore, or just 1st overbore? Sounds kind of "boring" (bad pun intended) to me. :D

overbore

Post by xela_p2004 »

Yeah bored to its 1st or second overbore. Basically just getting the stock cylinder and boring it out adding a new bigger honda piston and rings. Doing this will increase displacement I assume. Can this be a simple way to increase performance or just for rebuilding?

He is right. I bored mine out not for power but because i could do it cheaper than getting a used jug with piston and rings.

Ok so how big of a piston would I need to notice a difference? I purchased a new piston for my metropolitan it increases my scoot from 49cc to 58cc, I have yet to install it, but the ruckus crowd from totalruckus.com say it makes your scoot run like a two stroke at take off and has enough punch and speed to smoke a stock zuma. They have veypor graphs and data to back up there claims. That is fast for a four stroke. Any how has anyone experimented with buying a bigger piston and boring the stock cylinder, I know Wisco has pistons in all popular scooter sizes. Not sure if its possible just a thought, Iam sure you guys have thought about this before, but is it possible? What is the MM size of the stock piston? If it hasnt been done, maybe I can be the pioneer of this idea.

What were you quoted for a used jug with pistons and rings?

Well I know the engine is different, Iam talking about the stroke. The only reason the spree doesnt have aftermarket parts is because of its transmission or lack of variator.

no, ports are diff, i ran a aero piston in a spree and it ran, but it was sketchy... and the crank for the aero is bigger and longer.
