muffler shot?

Post by HuskieMobileMan »

I decarbonized my muffler today, and I got a ridiculous amount of stuff out of it. Probably too much. Insulation came out with it. Is it shot?

What is the normal temperature that an exhaust should be able to handle? I stuck it on the bbq to dry it out. It got around 400 degrees. Is that too hot for it?

I use MAPP GAS every summer to clean mine out. Have you ever used MAPP GAS? Think of steak being well done in 30 seconds :P

Usually I do mine until the whole thing Glows, and that does the trick nicely ^_^

What is an Iowa muffler? Would that ruin an Iowa muffler? I also used draino in it as well.
