Speedometer tops out randomly

I recently got an 85 spree and the speedometer needle sometimes bounces off the top and makes a buzzing noise and I'm not sure how to fix it.

It's a dry cable.
You should lubricate the cable.
Remove cable from brake hub.
Pull inner cable out, clean, and lube with spray. (WD40 or equivalent)
Re-insert inner cable and re-attach.
