No low end power.

Post by DYLANHSMITH »

I have an 86 spree and 82 express. The spree runs great with no problems and is in near mint condition although the express couldnt be further from the same. The engine, carb and transmission are actualy in seemingly good condition although various problems seemed to always appear when riding it. Ive got almost all of the bugs worked out accept there is still no low end power. Acceleration up to ten mph is horrible. Last year i had it running extreamly well for about 50 miles and then it stoped all togther. I later found out that it was the airfilter that had deteriorated and was not restricting the airflow so it was just bogging out. I now have that problem fixed but as i said theres no low end power at all and i cannot figure out why. I have a fairly good knowledge of engines and any suggestions would be very helpful in solving this problem.

I'm guessing something is wrong with the CVT.

I have a spree that only has 480 miles on it, but from a dead stop if you floor it the engine spins all the way up but the scoot slowly pulls away. Is there a primary and secondary clutch?

your clutch is slipping rebuild it
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
