some one shoot me in the head....

ok so i had it running, running great like 37 top speed and amazing take off.
so today after riding it top speed for about 2 hours it sputtered and died. it die like an 'out of gas' die, but i have a almost full tank. now when i kick it , it dose nothing at alll. like theres no gas or spark... BUT THERE IS BOTH

there has been something up with the carb or something; my air filter (dirt bike pod) has been covered in oil to the point of dripping on my motor for about a week or two. i took it off and cleaned it 2-3 days ago and over night it got back to all wet. it was something i just never got around to fixing.

before ridding it today it was fine, i put some oil in it,gassed it up and it ran fine. when riding it was doing great all up to when it died

any ideas any one?

You may have fouled the spark plug. I would try a new one before you start taking things apart.

A few things to check:
1. What is your compression spost to be, 70psi sounds low.
2. You should have a nice blue spark, white or yellow spark is weak.
3. You prob. have a case leak, thats why you were going so fast, 37mph is way fast. Remember "lean is mean" you prob burnt her up. Also a lean mix, or low compression is very hard to get started.
4. Put in a NEW plug, stop the fuel flow and drain the carb. Crank the bike over for 10 sec then shoot starting fluid in the carb and see if it starts. If it does then you are lean or low compression.

1. 70 psi is good for mine, before when the rings were broke i got 20
2. You should have a nice blue spark, white or yellow spark is weak.
2. i get a great white blue spark, yellow or red is bad, white is good isnt it?
3. You prob. have a case leak, thats why you were going so fast, 37mph is way fast. Remember "lean is mean" you prob burnt her up. Also a lean mix, or low compression is very hard to get started.
3. 37 isnt that fast , the people i bought it from and there friends said it did like 40-43 mph. plus till this happen it started first kick every time

is it possible that the case cracked when i was riding? i didnt see any trail of oil or anything how ever for that last 5-10 minutes it seemed my take off was slightly better
4. Put in a NEW plug, stop the fuel flow and drain the carb. Crank the bike over for 10 sec then shoot starting fluid in the carb and see if it starts. If it does then you are lean or low compression.
4. ill try that , thanks for the comment and the help

Yea, white is much hotter than blue. Spark or flame heat goes orange/red<blue/yellow<<white. Anything white is quite hot.

Check your spark plug gap. If you are getting a true white spark then you might have the gap to tight. Your bike should only produce enough voltage to create a blue spark across the gap. Have you tried a new CDI box? It might be creating to much dwell and changing your timing. The extra saturation time would create a white spark.
