Cant get my Elite to Start

70 psi may not start a 2-stroke, but almost none will keep it running...I've proved it. My '85 Spree ran for about 5 miles on almost no compression, it finally died once I had to go up a steep hill...

i dont know if 70 is what mine really is or if my gages is just off but eather way its got good compression

ok me and my step dad have been bran storming on what to do...
he came up with an idea i hate but might work, so im asking you guys
The Moped Now-
wont start, gets so d*** close but wont start, has great spark, good compression , the carb. got cleaned like a month ago, UNI pod air filter,new rings put in 2 weeks ago, grilled the pipe when the carb. was being done.
also it floods the spark plug.
Whats been Tried so Far-
ive left the spark plug out over night 2/3 times now, re cleaned the carb, blew air into the spark plug hole, cleaned the f*** out of that spark plug,tried no air filter , tried with air filter hole covered.
My Step Dads Plain-
ok so someone at work told my dad that i might be getting bad compression and blah-blah-blah. so now my step dad wants to tear the hole thing apart and sand down the inside of the cylinder with sand paper!!! he said that even though we didn't see and scoring (there was none at all) that there might be scratches so small we couldn't see them but there enough to ruin compression and cause it not to start. So his plain is to tear it all down and use fine SAND PAPER and "get rid of any scratches" by going side to side not up and down...

the thing is until just a week or so ago it ran perfect so i dont see how 'scratches so small we cant see them' didn't effect it before but they do now :?
how ever he has been right before and as much as i hate to admit it he has a way of making things work,
so do you think his way might work or ruin the motor?

hes gonna ruin the f*** out of that motor if you let hime near it you hone cylinders with honing tools not with sandpaper you do realize that by using sand paper the bore will no longer be perfectly round and rings arent made to fit in an oval. and scoring shows up as black streaks. will it start if you put oil in the plughole? if it still doesnt start after the oil in the plughole then compression ids not the problem.

put in a little of your oil in the spark plug hole, and tap your starter, or slowly kick over the engine. a little bit of extra oil in there will bump up your compression to get the engine to fire. if u didnt see any scatch marks on the cylinder, the fine sand paper probably wont do anything. wont hurt it to try it though. hmm... might wanna check those crank seals. they could be bad and u might not no it. could be loosing compression through them. :cry:
