Spree Troubles..

Post by urbansledder »

Well, I cannot get my 86 Spree to start. The spree stopped running while being ridden at about 15 mph on a dirt road. Now it will only start if it has been sitting for a while, then it will run as long as you don't sit on it... Once you sit on it to try to ride and it shuts off, it will not start again until it sits for a while.
The carb is clean, I have compression etc. Noiseguy helped me make sure everything was in working order, but it still wouldn't run. Does anyone know what the problem could be??

sounds like the bystarter is bad check it more info in tech docs
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

yeah, the bystarter could have a effect something like that
"Its not what you ride, its that you ride"
1996--------Honda Elite S-
1991--------Tomos Targa-
And a Bunch of other bikes.

my spree ran irratically. I found that there is a wire within the bunch that are bound together that has a complete reverse bend to it I believe it was green. The bend was so sharp that the wire broke. I fixed the wire and it runs great
