Any way to put a variator on a spree???

Does your Spree/Elite already run great, and you're trying to make it quicker/faster? Need a monster motor swap? Discuss your ideas here.

sprees weren't meant to go fast in the first place. If you want to make it go faster start with a better chassis.

I've heard that the Express variator may be small enough to fit, but I've never checked.

Didnt the Pal/DJ1 one come with an AF05 (Spree Engine) that had a variator... seems like a straight swap would be easier than this mod

Really? I think that if I say "I've heard that someone tried this" and explain that I haven't, they can do their own research and figure it out for themselves. Which is better than some people who come onto the board, talking about how great every * thing they build is, but won't share details.

For example, if you think a 19mm carb is required for some bore size, say "I think you should run a 19mm Dellorto with size XX jet" rather than "You're a * stupid b****... my stuff all is faster than yours!" The latter is just irritating and communicates nothing.

Not sure... follow the links to the Express online service manuals in tech docs and start reading.
