rings

Is it possible that my rings are causing me problems?Scooter has power until it warms up then it takes a dump.Anyone following my posts knows I have tried jsut about everything else.Everything seems to function on this scooter otherwise.thanks

Sounds like the bystarter isn't functioning correctly. Stuck open.

As I had stated in other posts I tested the bystarter numerous times on and off the scooter and it is blocking the enriching circuit fuel and air flow after it warms up.Starting to focus on the reed valve assy. Thanks for the input.

It does sound like your bystarter is working ok from your past posts.

Could it be possible that when the bystarter closes, your scooter is running too lean? One easy thing to do is to try unplugging one of the bystarter wire to keep it in the enrichen mode.

If works better, re-check the idle jet (I think you did this once). It might still be partially plugged. Recheck the idle mixture screw. Also could there be an air leak on the intake?

Yes,I did disconnect the bystarter and it still runs crappy.I took the wires off right after it boogged down and hooked an air hose on the small inlet hole on the carb and the air was blocked telling me that the bystarter had indeed came down and shut off the air flow and in tern should have shut off the gas circuit as well.It performed ok on the bench also.I rechecked and recleaned the carb many times and also just got a can of carb soak and soaked it and it seems clear to me.I was told by some one here it is a good chance it may be the reed valve.Others off site told me this also.What should I check on the idle mixture screw other than the adjustment of it?I will double check air intake also.thanks

Have you done a plug chop after it starts bogging?

My intent for the bystarter test was for you to unhook the wire before starting so it would never *close*. When open it lets in more air but also richens the mixture.

When you verified that the bystarter was closed, right after your engine was running poorly - that's the same diagnosis with a different test - its poor running starts when the bystarter closes.

If you repeat the test with the bystarter unhooked it should run longer, or just keep running ok. Then track down your mixuture problem.

Plug chop done many times.It was lean.I did one after moving the needle clip down and it was still lean.Will have to do the bystarter test again, but I may have done that.Did so many tests I foget now.Thanks Joe
