you simply take out the 'clip' theres one on each side of the pistion. after removing one, move to the other side of the piston and push the 'pin' (its like a hollow rod as wide as a pen or so) all the way though and out the other side.
at this point you can lift the piston off but know there a barring thing in the center of the rod. if it falls into the crank case its a b**** to get out

I had a hunch there was a clip there too. See the problem I have is this - I think the motor ran too lean, it was 105 degrees out, and I was ripping up and down the road doing 30 MPH. This thing has always been dangerously hard to start. I had to put it on the battery charger in boost mode, and it would crank it just enough faster to take right off. It would idle fine after that, and that day I was riding I heard this loud sqeal and then something like a THUD come from the crankcase and then the motor sounded as if it were runnin outta gas. I tried and I tried to make it run better, give it gas, it would go wide open then start dying again, even after going thru and cleaning the carburetor. I took the eingine apart for the hellofit and all 4 ears have been snapped off the piston, and it's top ring has burnt off (which explains why if it died while I was not at home, I was screwed unless I kew someone with jumper cables) So now I'm hunting for a used piston and cylinder or, if it isn't real expensive, I would invest in that 63cc bore kit and just have my cylinder bored over. I'm going to go to AutoZone tomorrow and get Fel-Pro gasket material and get to work on the gasket set for it. If you guys happen to know where I can get a used piston and rings even, at a GOOD price, I was told my cylinder will be alright. It had some scores toward the bottom, but ery very light, I can take it to my machine buddy and have it honed enough to get rid of the scores if I have to, and it'd probably save me alot of money. Dac, thanks for your help. Any special tools I need to get the clip out?

a set of needle nose pliers works fine. im not sure what a clip in a spree is like but my elite and sundiro clip is almost a full circle with a end sticking towards the middle. just grip that middle peace, and pull it out, turning it helps some times
