Both Electric and Kick Starter Stick: Made video to Show!

Hi guys, i attached a quick video captured on my cel phone to show the problem I'm experiencing with my Honda Spree. The actual action occurs at approximately 8 seconds in, so thanks for your patience:

So basically I├óÔé¼Ôäóve got a Honda Spree that all of a sudden has decided it doesn├óÔé¼Ôäót want to start (sort of). When I press the electric starter it spins for a second then sticks (it pops out but doesn├óÔé¼Ôäót return). When I remove the cover, I can use a socket to turn the variator to release the electric starter, then I try the kick starter. I kick it down once, and then the kick start lever sticks. Any idea why both starting options are sticking? I can attach a socket to the front variator and turn it freely and have good compression. If I can just get the starter not to stick I believe it├óÔé¼Ôäóll run fine. It├óÔé¼Ôäós like the starter is engaging but just not disengaging. For instance, if I kick start it, the kick start lever will go down and crank the motor, but won├óÔé¼Ôäót return to its starting spot above. Or if I electric start it, the starting motor pops out and engages but doesn├óÔé¼Ôäót return back. I thought the piston might have been stuck but that doesn├óÔé¼Ôäót seem to be the case because I can attach a socket to the variator and it├óÔé¼Ôäóll spin freely with a good compression. oh my sundiro my kick starter just skips or grinds, what do i do?

soo u know, u have to have the cover on the engine for the electric starter to work. it will do exactly what its going right now unless the cover is on, also. i had that problem with the kicker, i just put hte spring on wrong, and then the moon gear stripped.

i think my moon gear is striped but how do i get parts for a moped that no one knows was ever made????

the honda dealer here in madison hights knows alot about mopeds and has all parts ( i used to work there, i was the small engines mechanic. a) i updated all there moped stock. so i know they have the parts.

what?
engine cover? you mean the shroud?
I'm am going to ask ahother question in it's own topic but.
My spree will kickstart everytime, but it will not electric start. We have tested compression, spart and everything.
It does everything strong but start.
Please help I have been searching this forum fow a few months now.
